About the Trainer

Helen Pärli holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Tallinn University of Technology and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. She has over ten years of experience in HR, working in both retail and business consulting sectors. As a certified Executive Coach, Helen has worked with top executives to help turn their visions into reality. In addition to her master’s degree, she holds a Level 6 Adult Educator qualification and is an internationally recognized DiSC trainer.

CURRICULUM: Internal Training “How to Conduct Effective Job Interviews and Make the Right Hiring Decisions”

Curriculum Area: Management and Administration Curriculum Area

Basis for Curriculum Development: The curriculum is based on publicly available materials, which will also be referenced during the course.

Objective: The purpose of the training is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to conduct effective job interviews and make the right recruitment decisions.

Learning Outcomes (What participants will achieve by the end of the course):

  • Understand their role and the role of others in the recruitment process.
  • Be able to prepare and conduct job interviews.
  • Be able to use the STAR model to conduct an effective interview.
  • Understand how to make the right final recruitment decisions.
  • Understand the importance of feedback and its connection to employer branding.

Target Group: HR professionals, recruiters, and recruiting managers who want to develop their job interview skills to offer a better candidate experience.

Prerequisites: Participants must have a B2 (independent language user) level of proficiency in Estonian.

Course Duration: 6 academic hours

Course Content:

  • Different roles in the recruitment process
  • Preparing for a job interview
  • Effective communication during an interview
  • Conducting the interview – what to ask and what not to ask
  • Evaluating candidates
  • Making the right decision – the final choice
  • Providing and receiving feedback

Learning Methods: Mini-lectures, engaging discussions, group work, reflection, practical exercises

Learning Environment: The training will be conducted in a group-work adapted environment, equipped with presentation technology and a whiteboard. We will accommodate participants with special needs within our capabilities. The training can also be conducted in an online environment using Zoom.us. The trainer will send a link to participants for access to the virtual room.

Number of Participants: The maximum number of participants per group is 20.

Learning Materials:

  • Materials prepared by the trainer
  • Necessary learning aids provided by the trainer during the course

Completion Requirements:

  • Participation in at least 80% of the in-person sessions is required.
  • The participant must complete the assessment methods.

Assessment Methods:

  • Self-reflection
  • Reflection with a peer
  • Creating a recruitment plan

Assessment Criteria:

  • The participant must demonstrate acquired knowledge and skills for conducting effective job interviews and making the right recruitment decisions.

Issued Documents:

  • Certificate (issued upon meeting the completion requirements)
  • Evidence of participation (issued if completion requirements are not met)

Qualifications Needed for Conducting the Training:

  • Completion of trainer training
  • Proficiency in Estonian at a native level or at least C1 level
