DiSC®internal training: “Team harmony masterclass”

Introduction to Team Training

As a preparatory step for the training, each participant will receive a personalized DiSC® profile and a collective team profile will also be created. The team profile highlights challenges and opportunities within the group.

During the training, participants will learn to understand their own behavior in different situations and how to consciously adapt it when interacting with various individuals.

In the “Masterclass for Team Harmony,” participants will also practice various communication techniques. With the guidance of a professional communication coach, participants will develop their communication skills to further enhance team harmony.

As a Result

After completing the training, participants will better understand their natural behavior, know how to adjust it based on the situation and the people involved, and improve mutual understanding within the team. The training results in enhanced communication among team members, reduced internal conflicts, and improved teamwork.

About the Trainers

Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Tallinn University of Technology and a master’s in Human Resource Management. With over nine years of experience in HR, Helen has worked in both retail and business consultancy. As a certified Executive Coach, she has collaborated with numerous top executives to help them turn their visions into reality. In addition to her HR expertise, Helen holds an Adult Educator Level 6 qualification and is an internationally recognized DiSC® trainer.

For the past 10 years, Ly has conducted communication training sessions, trained student counselors at TalTech, taught self-management courses, delivered lectures, seminars, and training on communication psychology, and been involved in implementing various educational projects. As a communication trainer, Ly believes that strong communication skills lead to a happier and more successful life and relationships. They also create a significantly better internal climate within an organization, which in turn helps maintain employees’ (mental) health and ensures improved work performance.

Basis for Curriculum Development:
The curriculum is based on publicly available materials, which are also referenced during the training sessions.

Objective:
The goal of the training is to improve teamwork skills and enhance communication within the team by understanding and applying DiSC® behavior types in daily work.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the training, participants will:

  • Better understand their natural behavior.
  • Be able to adapt their behavior according to the situation and the people involved.
  • Enhance mutual understanding within the team.
  • Improve communication between employees.
  • Reduce internal team conflicts.
  • Develop better teamwork and communication skills.

What is DiSC®?

DiSC® is a development tool focused on understanding behavior style profiles and improving skills based on this understanding.

The Everything DiSC® profiles offer a wide range of applications and create a more personalized development experience. DiSC® is one of the most researched, validated, and culturally adapted tools for local contexts.

DiSC® can be used to develop and improve:

  • Self-awareness
  • Communication and relationships
  • Teamwork
  • Leadership skills
  • Sales and customer service skills
  • Coping with change
  • Conflict resolution skills

Target Group:

Teams of up to 20 members who want to better understand each other, improve collaboration, and enhance communication.

Conditions for Participation:

Participants must have at least B2-level proficiency in Estonian and must complete the DiSC® questionnaire before the training.

Training Scope:

  • Two-day training (2 x 6 hours, totaling 16 academic hours).
  • Pre-training individual work (0.5 academic hours).

Training Content:

  1. What is DiSC®?
  2. How DiSC® helps explain our natural behavior in a team context.
  3. Getting to know your own and team members’ DiSC® styles.
  4. Adapting your natural behavior and communication style to improve teamwork.
  5. Team audit based on DiSC® behavior types.
  6. Working through the team canvas to formulate collaboration agreements.
  7. Communication techniques for improving teamwork.
  8. Managing and resolving conflicts within the team.
  9. Conflict resolution techniques.

Teaching Methods:

  • Interactive mini-lectures
  • Role-playing
  • Group discussions

  • Individual and group reflection

Learning Environment Description:

Training will take place in a setting adapted for group work and discussions, equipped with presentation technology and a flipchart. Accommodations will be made for individuals with special needs to the best of the trainer’s ability.

The training can also be conducted online via Zoom. Participants will receive a link to access the virtual training room.

Number of Participants:

The maximum number of participants per group is 20.

Training Materials:

  • Trainer-prepared materials
  • DiSC® materials
  • All necessary training tools provided by the trainer

Completion Requirements:

  • Attendance of at least 80% of in-class training.
  • Successful completion of assessment methods.

Assessment Methods:

  • Self-reflection
  • Peer reflection with another participant

Assessment Criteria:

  • Understands their own and team members’ DiSC® styles.
  • Can adapt their behavior based on the situation.
  • Knows communication techniques that develop teamwork.
  • Knows conflict resolution techniques that support teamwork.

Issued Documents:

  • Certificate (issued if all completion requirements are met).
  • Statement (issued if completion requirements are not met).

Required Qualifications for Training Implementation:

  • Completed trainer training.
  • Certified DiSC® trainer and consultant.
  • Proficiency in Estonian at a native or at least C1 level.

The curriculum can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the client.
